… Sinethemba to host the JA Alumni Start-Up Awards 2024

The incredible Sinethemba Ntfombitebusika Dlamnini will be gracing the stage as host for the JA Alumni Start-up Awards in 2024, and we are happy to announce this.
The highly anticipated JA Alumni Start-up Awards are rapidly approaching, and as JA Eswatini confirms the host of the ceremony, anticipation is growing.

This Friday, 17 May, 2024, Sinethemba Ntfombitebusika Dlamnini will single handedly host the awards and trust her to bring the house down as she promises the crowds top notch mc-ing duties. She is the befitting host that has been chosen to usher the first ever JA Eswatini Alumni awards ever to be done.

Get ready for a night of unforgettable moments.

Sinethemba is a broadcast journalist from the Kingdom of Eswatini who is a News Anchor, reporter and an activist for women and
girls rights. Before joining the national radio station as a reporter in 2015, she worked in the nonprofit sector where she learnt about the socio-economic challenges and the harsh reality faced by children, the youth and women in Eswatini.

After seeing the weight and far-reaching consequences of gender-based violence, which is further exacerbated by culture and religion as well as the unavailability of resources and opportunities for women and the youth, she purposed in her heart that
she would use her voice on national radio to advocate for these issues.

In the last few years she has worked closely with Canadian NGOs on issues
pertaining to young women where she also moderated for some webinars.

A lover of the arts she is also a sought after MC and voice over artist. Miss Dlamini is well acquainted with JA as she was for the first two years the anchor and producer for the JA programme on EBIS before handing it over for the organisation to carry the baton forward.

The awards have 16 categories that were open for nomination, which ran for 7 days The 16 categories have different prizes sponsored by partners in the awards. The JA Alumni Start-Up of The Year award sponsored by the Taiwan Embassy has E15 000,00 flight ticket and accommodation to Portugal to attend the JA Worldwide Alumni Summit and a trophy with a framed certificate.

JA Alumni are a select group of leaders who have experienced Junior Achievement programs as students. They may have run their own student businesess as a member of the JA Company Program, experienced what it was like to make financial decisions based on a financial literacy program or learned about money, careers or running a business in any one of JA’s other programs. To be awarded is the youth that has gone through the full cycle of JA program and have successfully run viable businesses in the past 15 years.

The awards ceremony promises to give all the glitz and glamour expected from such events. Friday, Manzini will come alive! To all the nominees, may the best win!
